(my garden was probably about that size) But its not heavy duty and doesnt weigh much. If your soil is compacted it will not be easy. Maybe rent one the first year? then buy the electric for yearly maintenance.
I messed with the old Gravely 2 wheel tractors and it said to use 140w gear lube and you cannot find it any longer. I drained everything and filled with grease and used them for years . Lubrimatic makes gear lube for boat motors and bearing grease I believe still sells / makes 140w gear oil in qts but it is very hard to find a store that sells it. I have read countless topics on this and other forums about how troy-bilt originally recommended gl-1 90 or 140 weight gear oil in the tillers. Well since I live in the south and summer temps are typically in the 90's and 100's, plus factor in the leaking tine seals I need to replace, I have decided on the 140 weight gear oil. I got an old 1970's front tine John Deere tiller (Model 624) a few years back that still works as good as the day it was new. I've never changed the tine gear box oil. I found this on John Deere's site for a newer tiller: GL-5 GEAR LUBRICANT®-SAE 80W-90. GL-5 GEAR LUBRICANT®-SAE 85W-140 Anyone.
